Dogs are one of the most intelligent animals. At the beginning of civilization, there were many animals tamed, but the dog proved to be the most useful animal. There are also horses and elephants. But dogs succeed because they need small space and care than elephants or horses. If dogs are living with humans for so long, then why suddenly do they need packaged food and not homemade dog food.

They were fed homemade dog food from their first day, and they still can eat that food. You do not need to worry as this blog will tell you about the foods that are safe for dogs.

It is a saying that dogs can presume any upcoming dangerous event.

The dog is derived from an ancient, extinct wolf. It is a subspecies of the gray wolf (Canis lupus) and is related to foxes and jackals. The modern gray wolf is the dog’s nearest living relative. The dog was the first species to be domesticated.  

It has lived with humans as a hunting companion, protector, object of scorn or adoration, and friend for more than, 12000 years, before the origin of agriculture.

Dogs have played an important role in the history of human civilization and were among the first domesticated animals. At the beginning of civilization, dogs were used for protection and prey. As the civilization grew, agriculture and animal husbandry came into light, dogs became the protector of small and weak animals like goats, sheep, buffalo, and cows.

Today dogs are employed as guides for the blind and disabled or for police work. Dogs are even used in therapy in nursing homes and hospitals to encourage patients toward recovery. Humans have bred a wide range of different dogs adapted to serve a variety of functions.

Dogs are being used in the defense system, and you can easily spot them at the airport for the investigation of the mysterious case and to search for the micro evidence that is difficult to search.

In-home, dogs are protectors of the house at night, and they are a good companion for little babies.

Well, the dog loves everything. There are many foods that should be avoided to eat, but there are many people who don’t know which food does dogs like to eat a lot?

That’s why I am going to tell you something that will your dog love. So let’s start;-

Yogurt

Yogurt is full of calcium and protein. Yogurt is very good for your dog’s tummy. Yogurt is a daily treat for dogs. It is creamy and light that will not harm your lovely pet. It is true that pets do not possess significant amounts of lactase (an enzyme that breaks down lactose in milk). So it is good to make yogurt in a very limited amount and don’t take it daily because milk and most dairy products cause digestive issues for your pet.

We don’t like green beans, but our doggy likes it a lot. Dogs like it a lot because green beans are so crunchy and soft. Also, there are many reasons to give this tasty diet to your dog. So, let’s talk about the nutritional benefits of green beans;-

Green Beans are rich in Omega-3 fatty acids and vitamins A, C, and K. They’re also a good source of a number of nutrients like Calcium, Copper, Fiber, Folic Acid, Iron, Niacin, Manganese, Potassium, Riboflavin Thiamine, as well as Beta Carotene. Not only that, they’re low in calories. So having a lot of green beans will not make your doggy chubby and unhealthy. Also, dogs and cat produces a fraction of Omega-3 fatty acid. So having green beans will boost the level of Omega-3 fatty acids.

Watermelon

Watermelon is a superfood for summers. Doggy also like watermelon as human. Watermelon is the best treatment for your doggy. As it keeps hydrated, your doggy. Dogs love to play and run around, and the burning summer sun could very easily dehydrate them. Dogs need energy a lot, so watermelon can be an energy booster for dogs.

Watermelon has 91% water content that will definitely help your doggy to be hydrated. Apart from it, there are many other reasons to eat watermelon;-

Watermelon has a great portion of water (about 91%). Watermelon is also rich in Lycopene and Thiamine, as well as minerals and fibers. They are also rich in vitamin A, B6 and C. Don’t worry about BMI, watermelon has very low calories.

Notice:- Don’t take watermelon to your dog daily, because having too much watermelon can cause digestive issues.

Pumpkin

Pumpkins are rich in fiber, anti-oxidants, and Vitamin-A, which means they help the cardiovascular system. Apart from it, the pumpkin keeps your dog’s gastrointestinal tract clean, helps in digestion, and helps in diarrhea and constipation.

Your dog loves to snack on cheese-like bread with cheese, chapati with cheese, and other tasty snacks with cheese

 It is creamy, rich, warm and smooth, and perfect for your doggy. Cheese is full of protein and calcium.

But remember that it has high-fat content. So don’t give me cheese daily. It is a dairy product, so definitely can cause some serious gastric issues to your pet.

There is an option for cheese, and that is Cottage Cheese.  Cottage cheese also has familiar tastes and characteristics like cheese, but there is an advantage that cottage cheese has very low calories as compared to cheese.

Apples

Apples are best in fruits. The good news is that the dog loves apples. Apples are soft and tasty too. Apples are loaded with antioxidants and vitamin C. Apart from it, apples are fiber-rich, and this fiber helps to clean your dog’s teeth, which leads to fresher breath.

Remember, take out the core and seeds before you give your dog an apple because having seeds of apples can lead to cyanide poisoning.

Egg

Eggs are a very good source of protein and should be made a part of your dog’s daily diet. Eggs are also rich in Riboflavin and Selenium. It can be used in meal and breakfast snacks also. Also, dogs love its taste.

Dogs are carnivorous, so they definitely love meat. There is no need to say that dog loves meat and fish. Dogs love every species of meat and fish.

There are the following meats that dog loves to eat;-

  • Liver,
  • Turkey
  • Venison
  •  Duck.

Meat is also a good source of vitamins A, E, the entire B complex, and B12. Apart from it, meat is also a good source of carbohydrates and fats.

Dogs also love to chew the bones. Remember that You must control the oil and spice content in the meat you give to your dog, too much spice is not good for your dog’s stomach.

Oatmeal

Oatmeal is the favorite food for many pets like dogs, cats, and horses. It warms your pet’s tummy.

There are many dogs who are allergic to wheat. So oatmeal is perfect for wheat allergic dogs. Oatmeal has soluble fiber that means it does not disturb a dog’s tummy.

Soluble fiber is easy to digest also.

Remember that, don’t add any sugar or other sweetener.

Pumpkin biscuit Home made Dog food recipe

Pumpkin is good for the digestive system. All you just need is pumpkin purée, rice, egg, and olive oil.

  • Heat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • In a bowl, mix rice flour and oil.
  • Whisk the pumpkin puree and egg together until getting smooth.
  • Next, add the pumpkin mix to the rice flour mixture.
  • Slowly pour water and keep stirring.
  • Line the baking tray with baking paper and smear the dough to desired thickness.
  • Allow it to bake for 40 to 45 minutes  till cracks appear on the top.

Frozen banana Home made Dog Food Recipe

Bananas are a great energy booster and can refresh your mind. If your dog is out of energy, then this diet can be useful for the dog. You just need yogurt, banana, and peanut butter.

  • Combine the ingredients in a blender to get a smooth consistency.
  • Pour the smoothie into cups of preferred sizes.
  •  Place them in the freezer until firm.

Turkey, rice, and vegetable mix as Dog Food Recipe

It is less calorie and a great energy booster and healthy food.  You just need water, turkey, uncooked brown rice, dried rosemary, frozen broccoli, carrots, and cauliflower.

  •  Place the water, ground turkey, rice, and rosemary into a large oven.
  •  Stir until the ground turkey is broken up and evenly distributed throughout the mixture.
  •  Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce heat to low.
  •  Simmer for 20 minutes.
  •  Add the frozen vegetables and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  •  Remove from heat and cool.
  •  Refrigerate until ready to serve.
