The liver is an organ of the digestive system only found in vertebrates, which detoxifies various metabolites and produces bio-chemicals necessary for digestion and growth. It is located in the right upper quadrant of the abdomen, below the diaphragm. The liver is an organ about the size of a football. It suits just under the rib cage on the right side of the abdomen.

At the blood leaving the stomach and intestines and passes through the liver. The liver processes this blood and breaks down, balances ,and creates the nutrients and also metabolizes drugs into forms that are easier to use for the rest of the body or that are non-toxic. It is the largest organ in the human body.

Function of liver

Bile is a fluid that is critical to digest and absorption of fats in the small intestine.

The productions of proteins depend on amino acid. The liver makes sure amino acid levels in the bloodstream remain healthy.

As part of the filtering process,  liver also removes bacteria from the bloodstream.

The liver removes excess glucose (sugar) from the bloodstream and stores it as a glycogen . It can convert glycogen to glucose.

Its main purpose is to regulate the chemical levels in the blood and excretes a product called bile. This helps carry away waste products from the liver. All the blood leaving the stomach and intestine passes through livers. The skin is the only organ heavier and larger than the liver.

The three main function of liver is detoxification, synthesis and storage.

The liver contains of four lobes which are each made up of 8 section send thousand of lobules.

It is responsible for breaking down the medications, drugs and alcohol consumed by the person.

It is responsible for cleaving the hormone insulin and other hormones secreted by the body.

The liver stores vitamins and enzyme that the body needs.

Maintain a healthy weight

 If you’re obese, you are in danger of having fatty liver that can lead to fatty liver disease. Weight loss plays a important role in helping to reduce liver free fat.

Avoid high calorie meals fatty foods, junk food. Do not eat uncooked food. Eat fiber rich food ,vegetables , fruits.

Exercise regularly

 If done regularly, won’t let diseases attack on you because it burns all the calories from your body.
